Earth Science Books grew out of a hobby. It is run by Geoff Carss who wanted to be a palaeontologist from the age of eight when we was given an ammonite which is still treasured today (especially as he grew up on Carboniferous rocks!!).

Geoff studied Geology at London University and went to complete an M.Sc. in Micropalaeontology and subsequently worked as a Micropalaeontologist until the price of oil went down and the company he was working for went bust!!. That was a few years ago and although no longer working as a professional Geologist he continued a strong interest in the subject.

Earth Science Books grew out of an increasing large collection of books. The transition from hobby to book dealing was inspired by Stuart Baldwin (of Baldwins Scientific Books) who has been a Geology book dealer for over 30 years and was able to provide guidance, support and stock.
